Everything singular or plural

Hello,

Is everything singular or plural? Do we say, everything is in its place? Is it always singular and therefore followed by its in its possessive form?

"Everything" is always singular, as you say. "Everything's okay" is quite common as a contraction, but I don't remember hearing it as a possessive. But it should be possible.
