Everything or anything else

I am not sure which one is correct, but i have a feeling that they both can be used here:

People like cars more than everyhing else
People like cars more than anything else.

Please help, maybe there are here English teachers who would explain me which variant is right from the literary point of view of the language. Thank you !!!
