EVERYTHING I AM

Dear Teachers,

1. Does "don't be scared!" mean "don't be afraid!"?

2. Celine Dion used to sing "I'm everything I am, because you loved me".

- What does "I'm everything I am" mean here?

3. She has never got into big trouble.

- "get into trouble" means "have trouble", right?

4. She's very naughty, I don't know how much I should give in to her.

- I think "to" is redundant here, right? "give in her" is better, right?

5. I think you know deep down inside you how much she can be trusted.

- "deep down you" or "deep inside you" are better, right?

Thanks very much to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

1) Yes, they mean the same thing

2) This is really a poetic exaggeration of the importance of this person in her life. She's saying that she owes all her charactericts, literally everything she is...to the love of this one person.

3) Not really. To get into trouble implies being in conflict with authority. Having trouble means experiencing difficulty.
