The three pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981, 1991 and 2001. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graphs illustrate the adjustments of expense at a UK school in three years, 1981, 1991 and 2001.

Overall, there are five expenses shown: insurance, teachers’ salaries, furniture and equipment, resources and other workers’ salaries.

Teachers’ salaries made up the largest proportion of the school’s spending, with a 40% share in 1981, increasing to 50% in 1981 but this amount dropped to 45% in 2001. Furniture and equipment fluctuated, at 15% in 1981 and only accounting for 5% in 1981 but soaring in 2001 with a 23% share. The percentage of insurance only stood at 2%, 3% and 8% per year that was the smallest proportion in all years. Expenditure on other workers’ salaries decreased steadily from 1981 to 2001, reducing from 28% to 15%. Like funiture and equiment, resourses also varied. In 1981, 15% of the school spending went on resources. This figure reached its peak in 1981 with 20%, but fell again by 11% in 2001.
