In 2003, almost half of Oscar nominations by thriller films awarded. Whereas, documentary, romance and sci-fi were film genres accounting for only 5% for each genre. Likewise, 5% of the total Oscar winners were people acting comedy films. Meanwhile, the percentage of Oscar nominees by action films stood at approximately 20%. At the same time, there were just over 10% of actors or actresses who won Oscar by horror films.
In 2008, there was a plunge to more than a third in the figure for thriller films, while the quantity of Oscar winners by the documentary, romance and sci-fi increased slightly by 5% per genre. The proportion of Oscar nominations by comedy films almost unchanged compared to 2003, about 5%. At the same time, the percentage of people winning Oscar by action films grew up nearly 25%. Whereas, the number of Oscar nominees by horror films reduced to nearly 10%.
