Do people use "shall" in GB or US? In which situations? Sometimes I just read rule in coursebooks and I don't beleve it is really used by native speakers of English...

My feeling is that, in UK English, "shall" is not very often used nowadays: it is almost always "will"

"Shall" is still used in casual first-person questions ...

- Shall I pour the tea?
- Shall I open the window?

[Doorbell rings ...]
- Shall I get that?

Another use is in political slogans. This dates back, I believe, to the First World War.
