Everybody

Hello friends
I have always thought this but never got an exact answer from elsewhere..

Which one is correct?

"Everybody will bring their book tomorrow" said the teacher.
OR
"Everybody will bring his or her book tomorrow" said the teacher.

Both are correct, but (as is obvious) the first is less wordy. The first is used more often in everyday conversation.
