I am trying to figure out the difference between the present simple and present progressive when using whenever and every time.
Every time you smile (this needs to be present simple) you are showing the person opposite you that you are happy.
(I think the present continuous is better, as it refers to showing as a background action that is happening when we smile.)
Every time you drive your car around, you are giving money to the automobile company.
—> again this focuses on the process correct?
If I were to put:
Every time you drive your car around, you give money to the automobile company.
—> that would mean that it was a habit of mine.
