Every time you run around screaming while I am working, you are testing my nerves.

Hello.

I have another question about the „present simple“ vs “present continuous”

Me to my friend:

Every time you run around screaming while I am working, you are testing my nerves/patience.

Wouls the simple tense work?

2.example:

Every time you look for a new job you are signalling that your old one is not good enough.

I think the continuous is better in this case.

In US English you might say:

"Every time you run around screaming while I'm working, you're testing/you test my patience." In English you typically don't "test nerves." However, something like this would only be said to a young child or to a mentally disturbed teen or adult.

"Every time you look for a new job, you're signaling/you signal that your present one isn't good
