Every time I write an eamil to you, I intend to ask...

Hi

Could you please tell me if these lines sound natural, especially the yellow parts? Any suggestions are welcome.

Every time I write an email to you, I intend to ask you about whether or not you will visit London this summer, but then forget and forward the email.

Thanks,

Tom

To me the "about" in "about whether or not you will" could be omitted. It is not wrong. The second phrase, "but then forget and forward the email" does not make any sense.
