Every cloud has a silver lining
There have been different experiences in my life since I was born. However, one of the most impressive situations that I have never forgotten was in my first year of my teaching job.
To begin with, I worked as a teacher of English at Thong Nhat high school in 2008. It was one of the mountainous schools in remote area in Binh Phuoc. At the 23 of my life, I was full of youth and vitality; therefore, I devoted my whole time to teaching children who were mainly ethnic minorities. Due to my extreme ambition in training them both education and morality, I became stricter and more serious in teaching English. Consequently, some of the students rose in rebellion to protest my teaching methods. Typically, Minh Hieu, the monitor of class 12a5, forced the whole class to truant my classes and told their former teacher that they wanted to change another teacher. I was shocked and furious with the situation.
To make matter worse, while I was making a great effort to find an effective way to resolve it, he was writing a complaint letter to the principle and complained about my hardness and ambition. I was between the horns of dilemma. Luckily, the principle recommended me joining an educational psychology course in Can Tho for three days. As a result, I heightened awareness of educational problems and put me in students’ position. I also became sympathetic and knowledgeable. I regretted I had not taken part in the course sooner.
Finally, two months later, I and my students were willing to share problems together and found the same voice. From this personal experience, it made me recognise that every difficulty had both positive and negative respect that was the reason why “ every cloud has a silver lining”.
Every cloud has a silver lining. There have been different experiences in my lif e, since I was born. However, but one of the most impressive interesting situations that I have never forgotten was in my first year of my teaching job.
