ever again

In fact, this whole thing has ruined me for helping anyone ever again

This sentence from the "Frozen" by christoff.

I am not sure why there is "ever again"

because it seems to me that christoff was talking about his past acting.

Does "ever again" imply future - helping?

Please can anone help me? Emotion: smile

Thank you

But " has ruined me" is for the past.

How it can be used with future emphatics?

I can not understand...

You are confusing grammar with real life. We can easily talk about the past and future in the same sentence. He was ruined in the past and he will not help anyone again in the future.
