Ever

Can we use 'ever' in a affirmative sentence except with 'if clause'? Could you show me some sentences cause I don't know how to use 'ever' in a affirmative sentence? Please help. And also 'ever' means 'at any time', right?

1. We need it now more than ever.
2. These are our best ever results.
3. She is ever the optimist.
4. Late as ever!

In (1), "ever" means "at any time". In (2), it emphasises that "best" means "best of all time". In (3) and (4) it means "always".
