Event

A verb is a word that describes an action, an event or a state of being.
I saw the above definition in one of the videos about verbs on YouTube
What does "event" mean in the given context? Could you please give some examples?

I wouldn't worry too much about this definition. It is notoriously problematic to define what a "verb", "noun" etc. is in this kind of way. What they probably mean is e.g. "I went to the shops" is an event, so therefore "went" is a verb, but it really doesn't make sense.
