Does "even to inventing new desires" in the sentence below mean "and even capable of inventing new desires"?


Contex:

Overwhelmed with nostalgia, impossible longing and fear of death, Bellmer felt the need ‘to construct an artificial girl with anatomical possibilities…capable of recreating the heights of passion even to inventing new desires’.
