It doesn't look like there's an even number of males and females. Or

Which is the correct usage or are both useable and interchangeable?

Hi, Only 'male s and female s ' sounds correct to me. I would also say 'even number s '. The idea is that there is one number of males and another number of females, and these two numbers are even.

Only 'males and females' sounds correct to me.

I would also say 'even numbers'. The idea is that there is one number of males and another number of females, and these two numbers are even.
