(even) if I do...

Hi,

I can't decide which phrase to use in the dialogue below: "if I do say so myself" or "even if I do say so myself"? It probably doesn't make much difference, but I'd still like to have someone else's opinion. Which one would you use and why?

Person #1: "You look great!"

Person #2: (looks in the mirror) "Yes, it's true. I do look great, (even) if I do say so myself."

I would include even , signaling my awareness of the boldness of the remark. It seems slightly more smug without it. But this is a matter of personalities.
