If you are looking for a nice way to refer to old people, here are some nicer terms:

senior citizen

someone in his/her golden years

a retired person

someone in the third age. (This is used, I believe, in Spanish.)

pensioner (This is used, I believe, in some English-speaking countries, but not here

in the United States.)

A mature pers

Well, I'd rather be called 'mature' than 'aged', that's for sure!
