Eternity

How could I write I synonym to 'forever' using the word 'eternity', but not 'eternally', it sounds kinda awkward(just to me...)... Could I say 'for enternity' or something?

Hi, Mav, I don't see why you shouldn't write "for eternity", as we say "for ages" or "for always", "for ever"... There are over 500,000 hits in Google.

I think we would usually say "for AN eternity"
e.g I waited for the bus for what seemed like an eterninty.

Yes, but AN eternity doesn't equal THE eternity...
An eternity is a rather long time, depending on the impatience,
and
(the) eternity is simply forever

Yes indeedy! Eternity with no article is, well, eternalEmotion: cat

Sometimes people say 'for all eternity'.

(It sounds odd to me, but – 384,000 googles.)
