Eternal struggle (again)

Howdy,

Here's another question concerning my doubts about the present simple and the present continuous...

Although the book is told through Stavia's memories she's got from the/her youth we first meet her when she's giving her son away/when she gives her son away.

Thanks a lot!

HI,

The sentence is a bit irritating for me. Could it be possible that you left out a punctuation mark?

You use the "she's giving .." when she does it at the moment. So it depends on what you want to express.. Would be nice if you could rewrite your sentence. Otherwise wait for other people to answer

thanks for your reply, I'm not sure though how I could rewrite the sentence and where that spot where a punctuation mark should be placed is. If you could enlighten me, I'd be grateful.

Although the book is told through Stavia's memories, which refer to her youth. We first meet her when she's giving her son away/when she gives her son away.

Well, I don't know whether this sentence is correct. Wait for a response by a native speaker
