Most of Chines Folk Festivals are basis of four seasons-Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. In order to meet this vigour and vitality season, “Spring Festval” had came into being. The Spring Festival of Han nationailty is the Lunar Chinese new year, which has 3000 years history.

Spring Festival is the holiday, which has the largest scale and it lasts the longest time of China’s folks festivals.

For thougsands of years, as the Lunar years ended and a new year began, people who worked hard all year worshipped their gods and ancestors, celebrating the year’s harvest and praying for good weather for the ensuing year, bring prosperity to both man and animals.

When the twelfth month of the lunar year come, the family started to get busy for preparing the upcoming celebrations around the Spring Festival.

The 23rd day of the last lunar month is an annual worshipping kitchen Day, this is the major festival in the five ancient festivals. The kitchen god has great authority to control every family’s houseworks, and it is said that, when he returns to heaven, the speech he has made will determine one family’s coming fortune and misfortune.

New years eve is on 30th day of the last lunar month, people started get busy since they got up, displaying spring couplets, changing door gods, hanging New Year pictures, and pasting paper cut arts.
