Hi teachers! I wrote an essay to a series of question. Hope you could give me some advice on my writing, especially on grammar and the usage. Thank you so much ;D
Miran finds the additional reading material useful though her lack of lexical knowledge keeps her from understanding the materials. Kilho’s problem is associated with the irrelevant topics of the additional materials to his textbook. The irrelevant topics discourage him to read the materials at home. Finally, Hojin faces the similar problem with Kilho in that he is not attracted to the materials because it is not accompanied with any activities to do after reading.
To address the problems of the first two students, a reading task that includes pre-teaching of words can be either presenting them in a list of pinpointing some of them in order to enhance understanding on the part of the students. By doing this, Miran can consult the list whenever she comes up with unfamiliar words. Moreover, the teacher can be more cautious in choosing the additional materials. While she prepares the word list, she would be able to notice whether the topics are relevant or not. With more relevant topics, Kilho will be motivated to read the stuff.
