Advantages and disadvantages of studying at Poznan University of Economics.

Many last year secondary school students are struggling with the question, which university is appropriate for them? This decision will have huge impact on their lives. Should they choose university in Poznan or maybe other University in Poland? Should they consider to study abroad? In this essay I will try to show advantages and disadvantages of studying at Poznan University of Economics.

Firstly, the university is one of the best economic schools in Poznan. According to “perspektywy” ranking, Poznan University of Economics was In recent five years in top three of the economics schools in Poland. It is 90 year old university, with great teachers, modern website and e-platform and with state-of-the-art building. On the other hand It is large university, so if you are looking for quiet place, with small classes it could be bad choice. Despite of new technology center building, the other buildings are pretty old and sometimes is really small for that large number of students, classrooms are tiny and they are not always in good shape.

Another major reason for considering this university is city, Poznan. It is one of the best cities in Poland to study, due to great nightlife(many clubs, pubs in close range of university), great number of companies which is eager to employ students, prices of food, house renting and commuting are affordable to students pocket. Nevertheless, if you are looking for active, full of cultural events city, you may be disappointed. A concerts are mostly in summer, sport events are rarely. Moreover foreign students are still rare sight in Poznan, so if you want to learn a new language, improve your english and be in international group you could find difficulties.

To sum up, there are different pros and cons of studying at Poznan University of Economics. In my opinion if you are looking for medium-size city with great University, you should consider this university. Every student will find something for himself here and you will gain decent amount of knowledge and meet awesome people.
