Hi everyone. I am preparing for IELTS exam and I would appreciate your comments on my below essay:
"The line graph presents the change in amount of chicken, beef, lamb and fish eaten weekly by an average person in a country in Europe during 25 years, from 1979 to 2004. As can be seen from the chart, the consumption of chicken increased remarkably during the period while other food lost its popularity
In 1979, beef was the most popular type of food eaten with approximately 220 grams used per person per week. The figure for beef hovered around its original point until 1986 when it started to decline. By 2004, this figured decreased to only 100 grams, less than half of its original value.
Lamb had approximately the same starting point as chicken at 150 grams but this kind of meat quickly lost its popularity and ended the period at just over 50 grams. On the contrary, the consumption of chicken increased significantly over the period. It surpassed beef in 1987 and soared to 250 grams in 2004.
The amount of fish eaten dropped about 30% over the period. It started at approximately 60 grams in 1979 and reduced gradually to about 40 grams in 2004."
