My English learning experiences in XXX and my future short term and long term English educational goals.

As my degree is going to be in English I definitely have to improve my Academic English skills. My English classes I have been taking so far have been the beginning of the improvement. It helped me understand my weaknesses and now I am a able to distinguish where I have to concentrate on to become fluent in English.
First of all, understanding and accepting your weak points is the first step to improvement and being able to set goals and put them into action it will take me closer to my goal .For these reasons, I worked out my short term and long term English goals. In this essay, I talk about how I am going to achieve my goal and what techniques I am going to use to amend.

First of all, I am going to elaborate more about my short term goals. I intend to read more academic papers. I have started reading research papers already. However, it is still a bit challenging to understand them. I have to re-read them for several times and focus on it. My technique is reading as many as research papers and at least one once a week. I acknowledge that it is only matter of time and keep pushing on and on will help me to achieve my goal. Nothing is accomplished without hard work. Everything you want to achieve requires dedication of time and hard work. Moreover, to have that silver speech I have another technique which is to read different genres. My purpose of doing it I want to experience different language styles and choose the most appropriate and appealing one. And again, to accomplish this goal the necessary thing to do is again reading and doing more research. Also, one of the key techniques I found recently is to write down some notes about what I have read. Albeit, I have not put this into action yet. So, my additional goal would be dedicate patience to have key points from readings.

Turning to the long term goals, my one of the most anticipating English skills I want to improve is debating skills. I am aware that I have to dedicate several years of hard work and constant practice. The way I want to achieve that goal is to listen to people who have inspirational speeches and political TV programs.
Also, as majoring in social science in the future I have to communicate with people who come from different backgrounds of ethnicity, race and with their unique mindset and world view. My initial goal is to understand their culture and adapt English language communication style. The reason I want to acquire that ability is because every culture has its rules and ways of communication. For instance, one culture would be ok accepting jokes and sarcasm and other would perceive it as arrogant speech.

To conclude, all my short term and long term goals I mentioned above are prior goals I have for near future. I believe that it is possible to achieve all of them if I put effort and try hard to follow all of them.
