My name is XXXXX XXXX. I was born in XXXXX on February 27 1997. My parents are XXXXX, born in Cuba, and XXXXXXX, born in Honduras. My parents are the greatest gifts I received the moment I was born. They have proudly contributed in the formation of the person I am now. I have an older brother and an older sister, both who are very hard working and caring. My family has taught me that harmony and family union can be achieved with love, respect and obedience. I’m not saying that it’s easy to achieve harmony and unity in one’s family. There have always been family conflicts. Freedom of speech can lead to some conflicts. However, the wisdom of the elders in my family have teach us every day that everything can be resolved with humility, patience, and tolerance because our family base is firm.

The environment that I was surrounded by during the majority of my life was an environment of poverty and struggle. That’s probably why I have become a strong person who isn’t afraid of the future. I come from a place where every day is a challenge. My parents have always had humble jobs, not very well paid. It was struggling for them to support my siblings and me. Nevertheless, I can proudly say that our economic struggles have not in any aspect affected my siblings or me. Instead, these struggles have helped us to become stronger human beings with goals and aspirations. We have perseverance, a strong will and enthusiasm to forge a future based on success in education and hard work.
I know that I will face many new environments and obstacles, but I am not afraid. I am armed, I possess a strong will; my shield is made of respect towards God, my family and towards my peers. I carry with my weapon, my dictionary: Love, Respect, Obedience, Humility, Perseverance, Enthusiasm, Admiration, Honesty, Unity, and determination to achieve my goals.
And I’m not afraid….
I am ready
