Essay - Parents are the best teachers

Parents are the best teachers. Agree or disagree?


Eduacation is very important in a person´s life; education makes you became an adult. Children can learn from many different parts: from teachers at school, from TV programs, from their parents at home. It is said that children learn the most from their parents. I agree with this belief; in my case this statement became true; I learnt from them so much that I´m probably almost as my parents are.
Children spend the most of their time with their parents and they are always watching what they did and how they did it; even though they don´t realize this. I was surpraised when I found myself a few days ago making a pumpkin soup that tasted just as my mother´s pumpkin soup. I thought I didn´t know how to prepare this soup; nevertheless, I tried to do it. It was really amazing when I realized that I could prepare the soup without formal teaching from my mother; therefore I just learnt watching her cook.
Other way you can realize that children learn the most from their parents is to pay attention in how daughter and son´s personalities are similar to those of their parents. There is a belief that pesons when became old are going to be just as their parents were. I can see this in my father, he´s becoming every day much more similar to my grandfather. His behaviour is almost the same of that of his father; he is even copying things that bother him from his father.
Children also can learn from other adults but at certain age they can reflect or analyse if they believe or not what they have heard or see; however, almost all the time they don´t doubt about their parent´s stories. Remember the film “The Big Fish”? There is an example of this: the main character of this film belief until he was an adult all the fantastic stories that his father told him; althought he knew their were unbelievable from everybody else.
Parents are very important in children´s education. They are an example, probably the most important, for becoming an adult. We all are, in certain way, very similar to our parents; we all have behavoiurs, or tastes, or hobbies that we learnt from our parents. It´s important to remeber this when you have your own child; he´s going to copy you many things, no matter they are good or bad things. As parents we have to realize the responsabilty we have of teaching our sons and daughters the best we can. Don´t ever forget that your the most important teacher for your child.
