In recent years some countries have experienced very rapid economic development. This has resulted in much higher standards of living in urban areas but not in the countryside.
This situation may bring some problems for the country as a whole.
What are these problems? How might they be reduced?

As a result of improving technologies and the standards of living in cities, many countries face the increase of separation between countryside and urban areas. This situation may cause several difficult problems.
To begin with, many cities become overcrowded, as the number of new citizens is growing much faster than the cities themselves. Furthermore, that increase traffic problems and air pollution. Therefore, life in city has many negative aspects. Also, the decline of people in countryside brings the lack of specialists in vital areas such as, medicine and education. In addition, the level of cultural life in the area is highly dependent on its population.
However, some actions could be taken to reduce the problem. Firstly, companies should be encouraged by the government to transfer their factories to the countryside. This would be a great source of work for local people. Secondly, the built of fast train links from big cities to the other regions may slow down the process of leaving the countryside as a place of living.
In conclusion, without an appropriate approach from the government and business sector the gap between urban areas and countryside will only grow in the future.
