Essay: Nowadays, young people admire sports stars though they often do not set a good example. Do you think this is a positive or negative development ?

It’s true that young people show the reverence for celebrities in the field sports though they are not a perfect role model. However, I believe that the majority do have positive effects on the behavior of youngsters.

In respect of an individual perspective, the young can idolize a renewed sports person who has many abilities. By no means can sports stars succeed if they are not hard-working, patient and willing to face to hardships. Let’s take Cristiano Ronaldo as a typical example. He was born in a poor shantytown in Portugal and lacked education conditions because his parent is extremely poor. Nevertheless, he has shown his determination to overcome illness, disorders, and now, he reaches the zenith of success. Therefore, youngsters should broaden their knowledge from joining in pursuing higher education, which helps them to seek a well-paid job in the future. Moreover, many well-known sports stars have scientific healthy lifestyle and training, and as a result, young people who are keen on David Beckham or Rafael Nadal should attend in a gym to enhance their physical fitness.

In term of social perspective, there are some examples of sports stars who provide some good moral lessons for youngsters to follow. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most famous sports stars but he always spends time on charitable activities to increase the living standard for the poor. The young are admired to perform a various unpaid job in a variety of inner cities. They are able to teach vital soft skills for unfortunate children or giving anything useful for them.
