How to learn from people effectively?
A lot of us know that other people’s experiences are a great source of information. However, it is a pity that only a few of us know the skills to learn from people effectively. Never mind. I will teach you six skills about it.
First, you need to set up a goal about what you want to know. It is important that you have a clear picture about what you want. It is because that you will not know which information to pick in this information overloaded world, when you are not clear about what you want. To me, recently I want to know more about how to be good at both study and life, how to be a good leader, how to express myself better, and etc.
Second, make friends with as many good people as possible. To be more sociable, I suggest you to read some books about building up social net. Now let me briefly share with you a few of my skills on building up a social net. First, I always try to grab for opportunity to know the people who I think are excellent. Second, I build up a blog to gather people I need. Third, I like to collect my friends’ emails and send them some festival and funny message sometimes. Fourth, I pick person to have lunch with me carefully. I use lunch time to enhance my relationship with new friends, maintain my relationship with old friends and exchange ideas for the information I want. Last but not least, I like to give other people information without thinking of reward.
Third, observe, ask and record. For an example, I want to know more about how to be a good leader. I will try to observe my leader behavior and ways of leading and speaking and etc. I will also ask for his teaching if I need. I also plan to have lunch with friends who I think are good at leading others and exchange ideas with them about leading. Sometimes, I also like to have lunch with my group members to ask for their opinion on my leading skills. If I just observe and ask without recording, I will certainly forget all that precious information I get from them; therefore, I will record good information down in my cell phone immediately, and organize it at home.
Fourth, sometimes we will get some information which is out of our expectation. If you do so, please analyze it objectively first see if it is true and whether you want to accept it, and not to reject it at once. We human tend to reject information that is different from our thought, but that information is usually just the key information that will help us improve ourselves. For example, I show my friends some of my essays to get their suggestion. However, some of them say that they can not understand my essays. At that time, I should analyze that whether it is because of my expression problems, my language problems or their understanding ability and so on to see whether it is problem and whether I need to improve in it. However, I should not just jump into conclusion that that is their problems, no matter how confident I am for my essays.
Firth, remember to be generous of giving your friends information. Instead of only getting information from other people, you also have to give them some information in reply, or they will be fed up of making friends with you. The more information you give others, the more they will give you in reply. This will never go wrong.
Last but not least, no matter how good the information is, it will come to nothing, if you do not apply it. So please try to apply the information that you think is good in your everyday life. At least try to take one action one day. For sure, you will make a different.
That is all my experiences; I really hope to get your suggestion and feedback so that I can learn from you. Your suggestion and feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

1. To be more sociable, I suggest you to read some books about building up social net. Shouldn't it be "I suggest that you read (I suggest that you should read)" ?
