The money spent by governments on space programs would be better spent on vital public services such as schools and hospitals. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
--------------------------------------
Discovering the universe is always one of the most considerable aspiration of human. Although many arguments show that studying about space objects is important for the existence of human than other services like medical and schooling, I personally disagree with this idea because of the following reasons.
First, modern human’s technological developments are not enough to fulfill our dream of challenging the universe. The most visible evidence is that we do not have a reliable type of space transportation to reach other planets and we also do not have an adequate knowledge about destination that we want to venture. In 1960, Neil Amstrong was the first man who walk on surface of the Moon and this object has been still the only destination human can reach for the next 50 years, and there is no certain evidence that people can approach in the near future. Additionally, the cost spending for space adventures is also remarkably high and is not reasonable for almost countries in the world, especially third-world countries. In 2018, a famous businessman who organize a private project of exploring the Mars in the next 50 years declared the price for a trip is $100,000,000, which is an incredible number for almost countries and around the world and it is also an extravagant payment for an uncertainly benefit and dangerous trip.
Secondly, there are various reasons why spending budgets for public services is a sustainable reason of investment. First, public services play a vital role in the improvement of both human’s mental health and physical health. This is unignorable that the higher quality of medical and schooling services results the higher level of citizen’s well-being, and this consequence also induce a happier level of society indirectly benefit the development of nations. Furthermore, there is a significantly high number of people in impoverished areas around the world own assists to improve their own life quality. For example, by paying $100,000,000 for helping Centre Africa to construct medical service infrastructures, we can help million of people to eradicate from dangerous diseases and achieve and a higher level of life quality instead of wasting money for an uncertain purpose of exploring the Mars.
In conclusion, I personally oppose the idea of spending for researching space instead of taking care unlucky people around the world.
