ESSAY about immigration in the USA - HELP

Hi everyone,
I'm Belgian and I study English at university, and I have an essay about immigration in the USA to write. This has to be a one-paragraph essay to explain why immigration can't help tackle world's poverty. I wrote something, but I'm not really sure... I find the subject really difficult. If someone is interested in helping me (I've already wrote it, I only need an objective opinion) don't hesitate, I would be so happy.
