Essay about causes and solutions of animals species loss

Many animals species around the world are endangered and each year we lose more species as the remaining animals in a population die. Discuss the possible causes of species loss and suggest some ways that we might be able to preserve some of these vanishing species.

Annually, numerous fauna species are on the verge of annihilation and lose their population. This phenomenon is driven by several factors, but fortunately some measures can be implemented to alleviate the repercussions.

There are two main factors leading to the disappearance of animals. The first is the prevalence of illegal hunting. This is due to wrong beliefs that certain parts of wild animals have healing effects, some frauds take advantage of this to earn money from poaching and smuggling them. Also, the rise in demand for purchasing heads or horns of dead animals for decoration of the affluences contribute to the expansion and development of illicit hunt markets. The second reason is the loss of natural habitat. It is elucidated that human activities such as deforestation for slash-and-burn purposes contaminate the environment resulting in the severe issues, namely climate change, global warming which destroy the homes of hundreds of creatures. For example, the recent man-made forest fires in Australia obliterated the habitation as well as food supply of species living there. Consequently, these creatures have to travel long distances to find food and a new shelter and for those that are unable to adapt, they will gradually die.

A possible solution that may help preserve species is to impose heavier punishment on unauthorised hunters since the fear of being punished prevents them from hunting indiscriminately. Additionally, exaggerated importance should be attached to the creation of reserves. Such conservation is constructed with an aim of providing an appropriate and safe place for hazardous animals to grow and breed without being affected by pollution as well as killed by humans. Moreover, opening these reserves to the public helps raise awareness about the significance of wildlife protection and fund projects saving animals' variety from extermination.

In final analysis, these strategies must be executed in order to put a stop to the vanishing of animal genus inducing by illegal poaching and habitat destruction.
