MY ESSAY
There is no little room for doubt that with the current medical developments, there would be more senior citizens in the future when life expectancy has been on the increase. This has a significant impact our society. I, however, suppose the idea that negative sides of this issue would outweigh its positive sides.
On the one hand, the growth in the number of the elderly in our society has some certain advantages. Firstly, older people tend to gain much more experience, thus they play an important role as counsellors who can give profound advice for the younger generations like their offspring and students. Besides, the increase of the senior citizens would be accompanied by an enormous source of volunteers for community’s and government’s campaigns. For example, my 70-year-old uncle would always love to participate in several charity projects in his neighborhood.
On the other hand, however, aging population will place the whole word under numerous pressures. Firstly, the government will have to spend more money on the older persons’ social welfare, which increases the amount of money that the tax-payers have to pay. Secondly, older population growth will be a significant burden to many developing countries of which medical facilities are not ensured. For instance, in some African nations, a lot of old people have died due to the lack of medical supplements. As a result, it is apparent that aging population brings many negative enormous effects on our society.
To sum up, while having more older citizens may have some benefits to certain extents, I firmly believe that drawbacks would overshadow the benefits. Therefore, the countries’ government facing aging population should implement useful policies to minimize unexpected influences.

You wrote the wrong essay type. This is not an advantage/disadvantages essay. It is an opinion essay where you take a position, and then give two arguments (one in each body paragraph) why it is your opinion.
