In some areas on the planet, high school graduates have been told that taking a year in doing some jobs or exploring new places before entering universities is a useful experience. Telling this to high school leavers persuades them to endeavor new things, and be able to realize clearly about difficulties in life, but there are also drawbacks that ought to be taken into account.

Firstly, one advantage of the decision to apply this teaching is that it broadens their horizons. By experiencing new things and new environments such as going abroad, they will be able to gain independence, meet people from all walks of life. Secondly, this choice helps them to understand the value of the life of doing part-time or full-time jobs. Working in a team gives them chances to learn about responsibility, dedication, and commitment, and to know that earning money is not easy as they might think in high school.

However, it is worth pointing out the disadvantages for youngsters to decide to implement this. From the perspective of the general public, they are of the opinion that those without a clear sense of purpose in life tend to follow badly-behaved adolescents who may have committed petty crimes. Although being in these groups can sometimes be fascinating, young people would become juvenile delinquents by stealing minor things, bullying, and hurting weaker individuals. As a result, this will damage our society. Another problem is that some might not catch up with their peers in their studies. Having decent qualifications in education plays a key element for success. Instead of wasting their time for futile and pointless purposes, expending a great deal of time and energy for studying may bring better results for their future.
