Essay (257 words in length) for correction, please

Secret ambition? Go for it!

Have you ever heard of a person who could speak perfectly at least 4 languages? Crazy though it may seem for a number of people, learning more than 2 foreign languages can be quite a satisfying and fulfilling hobby to dedicate yourself to. Not only do I sympathise with this group of people, but I am also keen on realizing my lifelong ambition of becoming so-called polyglot.

What qualities and requirements does a potential multilingual person need to meet? In the first place it is determination and eagerness to learn. In other words, all you are supposed to do is to immerse yourself in studying and persevere. Personally, I love reading stimulating, foreign books, and so far I've read 13.

If you are to master a couple of languages, then you have to show great diligence and a strong will, too, which are, in fact, one of the keys to success. I believe that my 2 hours of daily learning are sufficient.

Of course, having a flair for languages is crucial, as it is necesarry that you have a sense of languages – without that it would be far more demanding. I've been told several times that I am destined to be a linguist owing to my abilities; therefore,
I would like to live up to these people's expectations to become a polyglot.

Rising up to the challenge to fulfil our secret ambitions may be the first step leading to a future success, and I am sure everybody can make it if one goes to great lengths.

Thank you very much, Aspara Gus.Emotion: smile

I am still not clear about this one => "What qualities and requirements do a potential multilingual person need to meet?"

Could you please elaborate on this point? I don't know why it is wrong.

A compound subject takes a plural verb, except in fairly unusual cases. (I can't think of one offhand, but I'm certain that yours is not such a case.)

"...I am sure anyone can make it if one goes to great lengths. So, why not to make an attempt?"

Please, the last thing on my mind is to ask you about the highlighted part above. Is it correct? If not, how else can I convey the meaning?

So, why not to make an attempt?

For something a bit more casual and idiomatic,

So, why not give it a try?
