In recent years, there exists the question that how important is sport in education, a few people think it is waste of time and resources, while others believe it is a vital part of education. In this essay, I will disseminate my viewpoint about both advantages and disadvantages of sports in school.

A great numbers of people believe that PE programs in schools can cause many problems, especially with the learning progress and also the risk of injury to students. First of all, if students spend a lot of time in PE activities in school, they will not have time to study others subjects like Math, Chemistry, and Physical,… which will surely affect their future of learning. Secondly, when it comes to sports, it is impossible not to mention the damage that can be acquired while playing, so they will pay a lot of time and money to treat the wound.

On the other hand, sports are certainly beneficial to students in developing strength and promoting skills. In comparison, the students who play sports will definitely have a healthier body than the others. Moreover, dexterity is also increased when teenagers take PE lessons at school. For example, students who play football can have dexterous feet, and basketballers will have toned hands. Not only that, physical education subjects at school also help people get to know each other better, making it easier to learn as well as improving teamwork skills. Not only that, sports are a great form of stress release after long-hour learning and are also a great way to steam off after a long-learning day.

I hold the belief that PE activities in school have a certain importance in student life for some reasons. To begin with, how can we have a strong mind in a weak body? We can’t bring our knowledge to real life with weak physical conditions. We need to do some physical exercises to be able to build a healthy shape.

In the final analysis, making time for sports is not a bad thing, but to balance schoolwork and participation in physical activities at school and students should not spend too much time on one side.
