Essay

Forests are the lungs of the Earth. Destruction of the world’s forests amounts to the death of the world we currently know.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is argued whether deforestation incur tons of detrimental effects on our planet. In my view, I totally agree with this notion as the more trees cut down, the more carbon dioxide emitted into the environment leading to ferocious climate change, additionally, the deficit of natural habitat is also caused. This essay will discuss every aspect of this nagging issue.

The first problem arisen by the activity of accumulating wood for various supplements for human’s needs is that the climate change. In fact, forests burnt will certainly lead to an enormous amount of carbon emissions. This is one of the main causes of global warming irritating human’s life contemporarily. The environment will experience greenhouse effect, ice melting at two poles which will probably raise sea level causing death to many coastal areas.

Another consequence that wild animals have to face due to the forest destruction is the loss of their living environment. Owing to the shrink of tree coverage, the ecosystem will extremely suffer, as a result animals will have no alternative but to end up becoming extinct. Unfortunately, the balance of the environment will be lost.

However, many have supposed that forest extraction is paramount for our lives as we are making most of the world’s forests in order to provide the population with wood for a variety of purposes in terms of agriculture, building construction and other industries. But this can be replaced by a number of environmentally-friendly materials which scientists these days are making efforts to invent.

In conclusion, it is undeniable that deforestation has posed a threat to the survival of both human and animals as it will bring about extreme weather conditions as well as natural habitat loss. Given this situation, it is high time governments and citizens took actions so as to reduce forest exploitation, therefore mitigating its destructive impacts on the Earth.
