Question: Why would you like to study at the program you are applying for in the School of Engineering, Kyushu University?

My essay ( i will apply for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department)

I have been interested in computers since I was young. My father is a vice-principal of a secondary school. In the past, he had to stay up late to handle the scores of hundreds of students, but since a data analysis software is introduced to his school, his workload has been reduced a lot. I found it really amazing and I always wish that I could make something cool like that in the future. But then there are some family problems which made me study Japanese Business at university. After 2 years at university, I didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and then I got inspired again to learn computer programming by a friend.

The idea of Japan’s Society 5.0 really sparked my interest. I believe that Japan will take the lead and play a key role in expanding the new Society 5.0 model to the world. I want to witness this development, that’s why I aim at studying computer science in Japan. Kyushu University, being one of the former Imperial Universities with Japan's largest university campus, is obviously one of the best choices when considering studying in Japan. In addition, the facts that Kyushu university are now conducting demonstration experiment for self-driving buses, which is government cooperation, or has the world’s most advanced campus in experiments to build a hydrogen-based society have intrigued me a lot. This seems to be an ideal place with all the cutting-edge technologies that I always want to see.

But what fascinated me the most is a video I found on Youtube that introduced Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department of Kyushu University. The image that the department conveyed through this video was very interesting and I was most impressed with the project of Ashir Ahmed professor, which is aim at reducing social inequalities in healthcare, education, income, and promoting environmental sustainability. It reminded me of my dream when I was young- the dream of making something would enable people to live better. Also, my country has a lot of problems like Bangladesh. Therefore, if this project could work out well in Bangladesh, Viet Nam can also apply it to tackle social problems.

With such motivation and ambition, I decided to apply to Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, School of Engineering, Kyushu University.
