What are the advantages and disadvantages of this trend?

In our contemporary life, the tremendous progress of telecommunication technology and transportation has been transforming our lives, leading to a wide range of possibilities for living and working in other international countries. It is widely accepted that this trend has both benefits and drawbacks.

It is clear that the advance of new cutting-edge technology and transportation has some noteworthy positive effects. One of the first advantages is the advent of the Internet giving us an opportunity to contact with family members, remote colleagues or even business partners despite the fact that we may live far away from them. To be more specific, not only do social networking applications like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram enable us to chat and share data to each other without any charge but also keep us constantly updated with the latest information and current affairs. Another advantage would be that there are many kinds of transportation doing wonders for citizens regarding travelling. In fact, the ability to experience new environments is a good way to get a deeper insight into various cultures as well as open new horizons because the more places we go, the more knowledge we could acquire.

Nevertheless, there are some negative aspects that should be taken into consideration. First and foremost, technological tools might be the poor substitute for face-to-face communication because since people access those devices, they spare less time to talk to each other, resulting in the less significant ties in their relationships. In addition, the increasing number of transport has caused traffic jams especially during rush hours as well as air pollution which do harm to people’s health. Besides, brain drain is another huge problem when people nowadays have tendency to work abroad.

In conclusion, it cannot be denied that the telecommunication tools and transportation systems have a massive contribution to our lives; however, there still exist some drawbacks.
