I learned that the verb, "escape" should be "transitive," while it should be "intransitive" with preposition "from" only when we want to say getting out of a building.
Therefore, I think the last sentence in the above paragraph should be without "from" as seen in the below:
However, the slowing economy is a bigger problem for Korea and so it will have to try to keep its interest rate frozen in order to escape the economic doldrums.
Is this correct?
