As per my book it should be 'we have known' . Please tell me the reason.

NakoolAs per my bookAccording to my book would be more natural in BrE.

fivejedjon According to my book would be more natural in BrE.In my version of AmE as well. I do hear as per more and more often recently. I don't like it.
