In the US, we'd asy "in time." Other dialects of English may use "timely" so I won't say that is wrong.

"We reached the station in time" because in time means that you have enough time at your disposal. If you wanted to reach the station let's say at six and you reach it exactly at six, you would say "We reached the station on time"

However, if you are in a situation in which you reached the station at a suitable time for example:

This wouldn't be used in the US -- or at least, in none of the places I've ever lived. I do find these regional variations fascinating.

Although I am now Australian, I was born in UK, and had quite a lot of family around in Aust. for influence, and none say
"we got there timely". It sounds so wrong.
As said above, it should be:-
We got there in a timely manner (if you want to use the word "timely")

But more commonly
We got there in time..........If you got there before it was too late, could mean howe

Longman (a learner's dictionary) only says "timely" is an adjective, so you can only say "a timely arrival", "in a timely manner". Merriam-Webster (the king of dictionaries) on the other hand mentions its usage as an adverb too: in time.
Maybe it's not very used, but if it's in MW then it must have been in use somewhere, sometime, at least in the US.
