The better question would be "Is error a verb?"
It is a noun, so it does not form a past. . The related verb is "err".

He erred when he said that.

However, in an IT context, it's common to hear something like "The program errored out -- we'll have to rerun it."

Hi GG,

We never said that when I worked in IT, but i guess I'm not up-to-date. We said 'The program bombed (out)'.

I cpould imagine a sports commentator saying a player 'errored out'.Those guys invent their own grammar.
