Erasmus motivation letter

I am applying to an exchange program in the Netherlands so I need to write a motivation letter.
I have made one, but I am not sure about it, so I hope you will help me to improve it, give me some advice.

Dear Madam, Sir,
My name is Alexander Aksak and I am the 1st year student of Master’s program at Russian state university for the Humanities (Department of International Relations and Area Studies). I would like to express my strong interest for participation at Erasmus+ program that allows students all around the world to study at one of the oldest and prestigious university in Europe – University of Groningen. Thus, I would like to become part of this university and student community for one, I believe, of the greatest semester of my life.
It will be honor and bring a lot of benefits to me if you allow me to study at University of Groningen. Firstly, it will help me with my career, because I strongly believe that a diplomat profession is my vocation. I am convinced that the fundamental factor of most conflicts is misunderstanding, so I hope to gain insight into the various aspects of European and especially Dutch culture, so that later on my service, I would be able to work more effectively for the benefit of my country, Europe and the world. In addition, it may help me to master my language skills that is important for the successful work of a diplomat. Secondly, communication with students from all over the world will greatly expand my horizons and help me understand people of different nationalities, religions, interests and lifestyles better. It also could eventually create an extensive network of friends, both in Europe and the world what I am eager to do. Third, it would help me with my research project on ethno-political problems of the EU countries. Studying at one of the Top-European institutions in the center of Europe, communicating with people from all around the world including European professors, would give me an great opportunity to look at this problem more objective. Moreover, I am sure that at the university library I can find new sources of information on my theme, because in Russia this problem is poorly covered. Thus, life and study at the University of Groningen can be key moments in my life.
As for the advantages that the university may obtain from welcoming me, I am sure that I will be a good addition to the international environment among broad student community. Besides, I'm a very active student and try to participate in or even organize as many extracurricular activities as possible so I rarely miss concerts, festivals or student conferences like models of United Nations. I also know that you have at the university Theatre society, so I would like to become its member, because at my university I am one of the senior actors at our Theater club and I love it greatly. In addition, I heard you have the athletics club so I could bring some sport achievements to the university, because I am pretty good at running due to my engaging in athletics. However, the most important thing is that I might be a bridge between my culture and a variety of others, which is very important, especially in a current political situation. In other words, I would like to make a valuable contribution to the development of the university and the relationship between our universities and, of course, our peoples.
