Erasmus motivation letter

Please check my Erasmus motivation letter as soon as you can and correct me if I was wrong somewhere from grammar point of view or if I should have used other words.Thanks for helping.

Dear xxx,

I was very delighted by the opportunity to spend a year learning at one of the universities included in the 2012-2013 Erasmus programme so I decided to apply for it.I am currently studying Industrial Design at the Faculty of Product Design and Environment, University of xxxxxx Considering that I have been deeply interested in British culture for ages,my first option is the University of xxxxxx ,United Kingdom,Faculty of Product Design.

I believe that, Erasmus programme is an excellent chance for me to get in touch with the British academic system.Actually this is one of the main reasons I have chosen University of xxxxx.They have a strong research record and industry standard facilities.I want to explore their modern teaching methods and techniques so that I will gather information from any kind of source.This year should offer me the opportunity to discover another way of thinking and working.I am sure it will help me to broaden my perspective and contribute to my personal development by expanding my knowledge and widening my experience.

Among other reasons for studying abroad I can mention the one related to my English improvement.I want to learn new things from native speakers of English.I feel that I could significantly add precious information to my knowledge.In the same time I want to expand my social circle by making new friends and to improve myself in order to manage my own affairs. By learning from some of the best researchers at xxxxxxx ,I am convinced that the year will result in a worthwhile experience.
