Hi, I must write motivation letter for Erasmus. Can you please write several opinions on this letter I have wrote ? Thanks.
Dear Sir o Madam,
I`m writing you to apply at University of Cologne, Faculty of Management, Economics and Social studies as a Erasmus exchange student. By this letter, I would like to briefly introduce myself and show my reasons why I have chosen University of Cologne.
I am a first year student at Matej Bel University in Slovakia. I attend Faculty of political sciences and international relations; my study program is called International relations and diplomacy. The courses taught in this faculty represent my interest in politics, foreign affairs and learning languages.
When I found out, that I can spend a semester as an exchange student, I was really delighted because this has always been one of my most important goals connected with university. In previous years, I have focused on language learning. I have been learning English for almost twelve years and five of them I attended English grammar school, in which all my subjects were held in English. I graduated this school with the professional state exams in English at level C1. At the same time I have learned German as my second language. One of my greatest desires is to make this both languages perfectly fluent and the best way how to achieve it seems to be studying abroad.
University of Cologne and Faculty of Management, Economics and Social provide a wide range of courses that are taught in English even on the first degree. Many of them are perfectly matched with the content of the courses that I have chosen in my university in Slovakia. On one hand, the stay in Cologne can provide me improvement in languages by studying in English and also by practicing German language by your German courses and also in everyday life, but on the other hand the semester at Cologne University will give me a chance to expand my knowledge and provide me a new way of thinking about the issues I focus on. It could be instructive to study EU politics or international relations in country that is one of the main players in world’s politics. I believe that changing the academic environment for one semester and meeting many new people can provide me new ideas that I will be able to use also during the rest of me studies in Slovakia. Moreover, I am sure that the experience like that can broaden my perspectives in my professional future life.
In my opinion I consider myself as a hardworking person, who always tries its best to fulfill her goals. I have always been interested in studying, but I also work as a part-time worker. In present time I’m an English tutor in kindergarten. I`m always interested in meeting new people and taking new opportunities or challenges such as spending a semester abroad. I hope that this motivation letter inspired you in the same way that Cologne University and exciting city of Cologne interested me and you will consider me as a student who deserves a chance to spend a time at your university.
Yours sincerely
