In conversations, we hear 'comrade' thrown about. But is there some equivalent that can be used when women are talking? Something friendly that women call each other?

Not in my conversations! In the UK at least, "comrade", as a way of addressing another person, is associated with communists, and has negative or comical connotations for many people. It is not used in most ordinary conversations, except humorously or facetiously.
