Equipment V.S. Facility

Hello teachers
I want to know what's the different between equipment and facility.
I need to translate the playground rules from Chinese into English. I googled lots of the playground rules in English. Most of the rules use the word "equipment". But my English teacher told me he preferred use the word "facility". Can anyone tell me what's the different? Thank you.

The word 'facility' is usually used for the whole structure or area. eg A factory is often referred to as a manufacturing facility. The facility contains the equipment.

In some contexts it is possible to use "facility" to mean "piece of equipment", but they cannot always be used interchangeably. If you were to use "facility" incorrectly it would at best sound awkward, and at worst would be very confusing. I would stick to "equipment" for your translation.
If you post your translation here we can take a look and offer suggestions.
