Today's work equalled the entire last week's work.

Is it equalled or equaled? Open Office Writer says equaled is correct.

According to both Oxford Dictionary and http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/equal_4, both are fine; equaled is preferred in the USA.

They are both correct (equaled is more common in the USA)
